Auto Accidents

An individualized evaluation after a collision can help you understand your symptoms and the next steps in your recovery.

Symptoms after a collision

A sudden impact can strain the neck, back, and surrounding soft tissues. Whiplash may cause neck stiffness, reduced movement, headaches, or shoulder discomfort. Some symptoms develop over hours or days rather than immediately.

Even after a seemingly minor collision, persistent or worsening symptoms deserve evaluation. Tell your provider how the accident happened and whether you have already received emergency care.

Care guided by your evaluation

Dr. Sweeney has specialized training in whiplash and auto injury care. An assessment considers your health history, movement, symptoms, and examination findings to determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate or a referral is needed.

When suitable, care may include gentle adjustments, soft-tissue therapies, and guided rehabilitation. Imaging is considered when clinically indicated, not automatically after every accident. Your care plan should reflect your injury and response to treatment.

Know when to seek urgent care

Seek emergency care after a collision for severe or worsening headache, loss of consciousness, confusion, repeated vomiting, new weakness or numbness, or severe chest or abdominal pain. These symptoms require medical assessment rather than waiting for a chiropractic appointment.

For non-emergency concerns, contact the clinic to arrange an evaluation. Bring available medical reports and claim details, and ask your insurer about benefits related to the accident.

Let’s talk about your care.
