How StemWave works
The manufacturer describes three stages of focused mechanical stimulation. This supports its intended use for temporary muscle-pain relief and increased local circulation—not a guarantee of healing or lasting results.
- 1
Energy delivery
PACE® technology delivers controlled, focused mechanical pulses to the area being addressed.
- 2
Mechanical stimulation
Cells and tissues respond to mechanical forces through a process called mechanotransduction.
- 3
Local response
The manufacturer describes increased local circulation in the treatment area as part of the body’s response.
What to expect
Before treatment
A clinician assesses the area and your medical history. A small amount of gel is applied, and the handpiece is moved over the region to identify sensitive points.
During your session
You share what you feel as the clinician adjusts the handpiece position and energy intensity. Communication and comfort remain central to the session.
After your visit
You can generally continue your day. Some temporary tenderness or soreness may occur. Any follow-up plan should be based on your own assessment and response.

What is StemWave?
StemWave is a non-invasive device that uses focused mechanical energy. The manufacturer’s stated intended use is temporary relief of minor muscle aches and pains and a temporary increase in local blood circulation.
How long does a session take?
StemWave’s session guide describes about 5–10 minutes per treatment area. Actual appointment time and recommendations depend on the individual assessment and areas being addressed.
What does treatment feel like?
Patients may feel tapping or pulsing, sometimes described as similar to a deep-tissue massage. Sensitive areas can feel tender. The clinician adjusts intensity and positioning based on your feedback; comfort levels vary.
How many visits might be recommended?
The manufacturer describes 8–12 sessions as a common care-plan structure. This is not a fixed requirement or a Symmetry treatment plan. An individual assessment determines appropriate recommendations.
What happens after a session?
The manufacturer says patients can generally return to their usual day after treatment. Temporary soreness can occur. Follow the instructions given by your treating clinician.
Will it work for everyone?
No treatment can guarantee results. Individual results vary, and the intended relief is temporary. A clinician should assess your symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals before recommending care.
Is this approach right for you?
An assessment is needed before treatment. Tell your clinician about your medical conditions, pregnancy, blood-thinning medications, implanted devices, recent injuries, and other treatments. Device instructions and clinical screening determine suitability. Do not stop prescribed medication without medical advice.
